Go For the Burn

No, no no! And more no-s to boot!  I cross train to prevent boredom and underdeveloped or overdeveloped muscles.  Some bodybuilders are still in the caveman era.  These muscle types are still into the “No Pain, No Gain” style.  I thought we had progressed beyond those obsolete attitudes.  It seems those gyms myths will not DIE!

Always do 75% of what your body feels capable of doing.  These are the teachings of our new trainers.  The body takes leaps and bounds into new strength areas when we don’t overtax it.  When it hasn’t given it’s all it can recover faster and be stronger the next day.  That’s true health.

Every once in a while we hear about a young athlete that dies early.  They thought they were in shape but what happened?  Obviously they weren’t.  True health is more than just feeling superior because you have big muscles.  The whole body must be working right, not just the muscles. The muscles are a visible reminder and easy to focus on.  But the organs and the immune system and everything else must not be ignored.

Exercise should feel good when you are doing it.  It should feel good when you are done and you should feel good the next day.  If this isn’t happening it means you have overdone it.

Cut back and respect what your body is telling you.  Listen to it.  You will be greatly rewarded!
